WORLD WATER DAY

On March, 22nd: 24-hour video art dedicated to water

Now on ikono On Demand, watch here

Since 1993, the World Water Day is celebrated on March 22nd. This important initiative was created by the United Nations with the aim of focusing the attention on water related issues and to inspire institutions, organizations and individuals to take action and collaborate for a positive and worldwide change.

On the occasion of the World Water Day 2017 ikonoTV shows a curated selection of video works focused on water, approaching urgent issues such as the oceans’ rising levels, scarcity of water and wastewater - the theme of this year’s World Water Day. The works range from non-narrative, experimental documentary films to video performances and video artworks.

Highlights among the artists involved are

Enrique Ramírez, Simon Faithfull, Thiago Rocha Pitta, Isabelle Hayeur, Ange Leccia, Markus Hoffmann, Ursula Biemann, Janet Laurence and Antti Laitinen.
