The Shchukin Collection at the Pushkin Museum

The Creme-de-la-Creme collection in Moscow until September 15, 2019

Sergei Shchukin, a famous Russian entrepreneur, managed to amass, at the turn of the last century, a very unique collection of contemporary art at the time with artists such as Picasso, Matisse, etc.

Today it constitutes the bulk of impressionist and post-impressionist collections of Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the Hermitage in St Peterburg as the collection was split between these 2 museums.

For the first time in Russia, one can visit the Pushkin until September 15th and admire the Shchukin collection reunited and presented as it was at his home before it was nationalized in 1917.

Worth the trip and go after to the Hermitage in St Petersburg, as until October, the Morozov's collection is on view at the Hermitage.
